... that today is Computer End of File Day? In 1999, September
9 read as 9/9/99 (or 9999) to many computer programs. Since
"99" is an error code for many computer software systems and
"9999" an end of file code, it was feared that this date could
trigger an end of input or end of file reading, thus causing
computers to close down programs. The date came and went without much fuss... in case you were wondering. ;-)
