Did you know...
... that today is Barbie Doll Day? The first Barbie was put on
sale on September 6, 1959. Creator Ruth Handler watched her daughter Barbara play with paper dolls, and noticed that she
often enjoyed giving them adult roles. Ruth using a German doll called Bild Lilli as her inspiration for Barbie.
