... that today is Prehistoric Family Day? The Flintstones, which premiered on ABC-TV in 1960, was the first TV cartoon show aimed at adults. Alan Reed, the original voice of Fred Flintstone, uttered the famous "yabba-dabba-doo" in the first
episode. Originally, the line read "Yahoo," but Reed asked
Joseph Barbera if he could change it to something with a
little more "pop" to it... and the rest is history. Celebrate today by coming up with your own line that pops! ;-)

Instead of putting others down, try improving yourself instead. The only person you have a right to compete with is you. In the meantime, treat others how you'd like to be treated. One trait that some of the best (communicators) share is empathy. A couple of kind words can not only make a person's day, but earn you a friend and supporter for life. For the rest of the week, whenever you see someone you want to judge negatively, pay them a compliment instead. See what
happens.

... that today is Computer End of File Day? In 1999, September
9 read as 9/9/99 (or 9999) to many computer programs. Since
"99" is an error code for many computer software systems and
"9999" an end of file code, it was feared that this date could
trigger an end of input or end of file reading, thus causing
computers to close down programs. The date came and went without much fuss... in case you were wondering. ;-)

No one rises above who he or she has been without first
having fallen down. The best time - in fact, the only time -
to make a real change in your life is in the moment of seeing the need for it. He who hesitates always gets lost in the hundred reasons why tomorrow is a better day to get started.

I believe that you're great, that there's something magnificent about you. Regardless of what has happened to you in your life, regardless of how young or how old you think you might be, the moment you begin to think properly, there's something that is within you, there's power within you, that's greater than the world. It will begin to emerge. It will take over your life. It will feed you. It will clothe you. It will
guide you, protect you, direct you, sustain your very existence, if you let it. Now, that is what I know for sure.

Admit to - and learn from - your mistakes. Mistakes must be
viewed positively... because with the knowledge you gain from
them, you are able to do better in the future. So much can be
accomplished with a long-term vision and resilience to short-term setbacks. Not every problem is conquered overnight,
but if you persist and never give in to your mistakes, you will succeed.
