Did you know...
... that today is the birthday of the Louvre Museum? Originally a fortress built in 1190 for King Philippe Auguste, the Louvre was converted into an art museum, opening its doors on November 8, 1793. The Louvre contains many priceless works, including the Mona Lisa, the Winged Victory of Samothrace and the Venus de Milo. Traveling there soon? The Louvre is closed on Tuesdays!
