Did you know...
... that today is the birthday of the Croissant? In 1529, when
the Austrians fought back the army of the Ottoman Empire from the gates of Vienna, the city's bakers created a new pastry, the croissant, in the shape of the crescent symbol of the enemy. Celebrate today by... what else? Eating a croissant!
