Did you know...
... that today is the birthday of Ponce de Leon (1460)? Juan
Ponce de Leon was a Spanish explorer. He led the first
European expedition to Florida. He named it La Florida in
recognition of the verdant landscape and because it was the Easter season, which the Spaniards called Pascua Florida
(Festival of Flowers).
