Did you know...
... that today is President-for-a-Day Day? In 1849, Zachary
Taylor was scheduled to take the oath of office as President
but, because March 4th fell on a Sunday, he would not take the
oath. So, for one day the President Pro Tempore, Missouri
Senator David Rice Atchinson, had to assume the office.
