Did you know...
... that today is the birthday of the Fannie Farmer Cooking
School? In 1902, Fannie Merritt Farmer opened her own cooking
school in Boston, Massachusetts. Her school was named Miss Farmer's School of Cookery. One of Farmer's major
contributions was teaching cooks to follow recipes carefully.
She pioneered the use of standard level measurement in
cooking.
