Harry's Bar? In 1931, Giuseppe Cipriani realized a longtime
dream when he founded Harry's Bar (named after his American
friend, Harry Pickering) in Venice, Italy. The birthplace of carpaccio and bellini, the bar was a favorite haunt of Ernest Hemingway and many other famous people.
