Forgiveness:
Anyone can hold a grudge, but it takes a person with character to forgive. When you forgive, you release yourself from a painful burden. Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was OK, and it doesn't mean that person should still be welcome in your life. It just means you have made peace with the pain, and are ready to let it go.

The successful person has the habit of doing the things failures don't like to do. They don't like doing them either necessarily. But their disliking is subordinated to the strength of their purpose.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
Albert Einstein
Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.

Sylvester Stallone in the movie, Rocky IV. After defeating the giant Russian boxer, against all odds, in front of a hostile Russian home crowd, he says:
During this fight, I’ve seen a lot of changing, in the way you feel about me, and in the way I feel about you. In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that’s better than twenty million. I guess what I’m trying to say, is that if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change!
