Did you know...
... that today is Ellis Island Closing Day? Ellis Island, where over 20,000,000 immigrants were processed for entrance into the United States, opened for business on January 1, 1892. On November 12, 1954, it closed. It is now a museum. Trivia buffs: The last person to pass through Ellis Island was a Norwegian merchant seaman by the name of Arne Peterssen in 1954.
